AND IT'S HISTORY...

2012 Christmas Party; The Lincoln Magic Club Christmas Party was held on Friday, December 14th. An evening of dining and magic was enjoyed by all. After a pizza dinner and festive desserts, everyone settled into the auditorium for club awards followed by a spectacular magic show and white elephant gift exchange. Many club members were given attendance award certificates, showing how popular our club has become in the Lincoln community. Luis Villamonte was presented with the Past President’s plaque for his two years of service to the club. Bruce Jacoby was presented with a Certificate of Appreciation for all he has done for the club as Vice President the past two years.
The magic show started off with Luis Villamonte engaging the young children in magic, wonder and laughter. Chase Hasty wowed the audience with his magic routine which was awarded as "Favorite" in the "Magic in the Rockies Junior Showcase Show." Travis Newcombe performed a dove and levitating table routine that left the audience in wonder. Jarod Cernousek engaged the audience with Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer’s glowing nose as well as a Houdini shackle escape. We had a surprise performance by Jay Humann, professional circus side-show performer. Jay not only amazed the audience with his fire breathing skills, but he also somehow avoided setting off the fire alarms (which we are all grateful for!). Bruce Jacoby closed the show with a Christmas stocking prediction, a bit of humor, and reflection on the magic of the season.
Our evening concluded with the white elephant gift exchange which is always a good time. When it comes to stealing gifts, we soon learned which “little magicians” not to mess with.

Here’s to a Merry Christmas and a Magical New Year!

October 6, 2012; 1:00- 3:00 pm - Halloween Magic was the topic and many members performed.  A picture is worth a thousand words so have at it!

September 1, 2012; 1:00- 3:00 pm - Thanks to Vizma for letting us gather at the Runza office this month. With the home football game, and parking at a premium, we used this alternate location for the meeting. We had many members of the club show up to discuss "an original routine with standard effect." Bruce, Bob, Robert, and several others showed us or discussed interesting ideas/presentations, etc. We also had some guests visit the meeting from Omaha. Thanks to all who came out.
